Every so often BtVS airs an episode that has everyone talking. Sometimes they kill off a main character, sometimes they pit Buffy against a deranged God, sometimes they take away everyone's voice for an entire episode. Sometimes they just sing. Some may call it a gimmick, I say whatever works 0;-)

Once More With Feeling originally aired on November 6, 2001. Despite previous skepticism by everyone but Joss, it turned out to be one of the best episodes of the year and a fiercely contested download on Kazaa. Evil Dancing Demon "Sweet" has been summoned by Xander and is in town to have everyone "dance until they burn." Not only that; he makes them sing at his whim. Not the fiercest bad guy we've seen but certainly the most charasmatic.

As you can tell from the Non-Suckage factor of the episode it was written and directed by Joss Whedon. This was his first musical. Its original airtime was 68 minutes. The extra eight minutes were cut from subsequent viewings.
